Marquette, Michigan – December 23, 2014 – Great Lakes Radio, Kewadin Cares and Synergy Fitness teamed up again this year to bring Christmas gifts to the men and women at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
We asked listeners to bring gifts of comfort for our veterans and our generous listeners brought in so many gifts that our collection boxes were overflowing! Thank you for keeping our veterans in your heart this Christmas season.
Walt and Mike of the Sunny Morning Show thanked veterans for their service to kick off a Christmas celebration at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans this afternoon.
Veterans were able to choose gifts from several tables piled high while enjoying cookies and listening to seventh graders from Bothwell Middle School sing Christmas carols. When the students finished caroling, they gave each veteran a handmade doorknob decoration to brighten the halls of the home and spent a bit of time chatting with the veterans.
The veterans received many gifts today, including one from Kewadin Cares. Allen Richards from Kewadin Cares presented a check for $500 to Ken Arseneau, Activity Programmer-Volunteer Coordinator at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans to help pay for hearing aids and glasses for veterans at the home.
Great Lakes Radio thanks Kewadin Cares for their generosity, and thanks everyone who participated in this year’s Christmas is for Veterans.
