Marquette, MI – January 6th, 2020 – Now that the holiday season is wrapped up and pictures with Santa are taken, it’s time to think about New Year’s resolutions, not just for yourself but for your pets as well. Recently Mark Evans sat down with Dr. Holmstrom to talk about the Animal Medical Center‘s theme for January, Overweight Pet Month.
Over sixty percent of pets have issues with weight, but they don’t develop these issues by themselves. People’s eating habits tend to rub off on their pets, but regular exercise and a regulated diet can improve your pet’s health, as well as your own. The Animal Medical Center offers prescription diets through the clinic to help your pet get down to it’s ideal weight.
The Animal Medical Center also offers treatment if your pets have joint pain. Platelet rich plasma is a healthy natural treatment. It use’s the pet’s own blood, causing little to no side effects. Plasma injections improve healing and motion in the joints that will make regular exercise for your pet easier.
If you have any questions about your pets or their health, schedule an appointment with Dr. Holmstrom or any other vet at Animal Medical Center. You can call them at (906)226-7400.
