The poll was conducted by Lansing-based Marketing Resource Group. It shows Rogers with 34 percent of the vote, with Republican Justin Amash running a distant second with 15 percent. Former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land received 14 percent.

Pollster Tom Shields notes that while Rogers has a significant lead, both Amash and Land are splitting the west Michigan vote, adding, “if only one of them runs, the (Republican) primary would probably be a dead heat.”

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.6 percent.
