U.P. Woman Arraigned On Charges of Kidnapping Granddaughter

    U.P. woman arraigned for kidnapping grandchildMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)An Upper Peninsula woman has been charged in the alleged kidnapping of her granddaughter.

    58-year old Robin Eggers was arraigned this week in District Court in Marquette on a charge of children-unlawful retention by a parent.

    Police say when her 25-year old son Jesse Wiggin did not return the 3-year-old Sawyer girl to her mother by December 29 the child was reported missing.  Delta County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Eggers Friday afternoon at the Michigan Department of Human Services in Escanaba. The child was with her.

    Wiggin was arraigned Friday on a felony charge of children-unlawful retention by a parent.  A preliminary examination for both Eggers and Wiggin is scheduled for January 18.
