Marquette City Commission Taking Up Smoking Ban For City Parks And Beaches

Marquette, MIJuly 27,2020 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting coming up this evening.  Gary Simpson, CFO for the City of Marquette, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today, filling in for vacationing City Manager Mike Angeli, to preview the meeting.

Simpson said Commissioners will be discussing an ordinance to formally ban smoking on the City’s public beaches and all City Parks.

Commissioners will also be taking action on a resolution that places a moratorium on outdoor gatherings in excess of 250 people for a period of 90 days or until the state’s coronavirus orders are relaxed.

The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
