Whitmer Lifts COVID-19 Restrictions In Upper Peninsula And Northern Lower MI

Marquette, MI – (06-05-20) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer has lifted more restrictions in Upper Michigan and the northern Lower Peninsula as the state continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whitmer has signed a new Executive Order moving those areas of the state to Level 5 of the 6-level MI Safe Start Plan to restore Michigan’s economy.

Under the new Executive Order, salons, barber shops, gyms and movie theaters will be allowed to reopen on June 10th in the U.P. and northern Lower Michigan, also, social gatherings will be allowed to expand.

Indoor gatherings will go to 50 people, socially-distanced, while outdoor social gatherings will be allowed to go to 250 people.  Also, outdoor performances, graduations and sporting events will be allowed to have 500 people.
