Are You Stretching Correctly? Active’s Jaime Green Says You Probably Aren’t.

Marquette, MI – (02/25/20) – Jaime Green, Physical Therapist with Active Physical Therapy’s Ishpeming location, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about stretching and being active.

Green talked about many of the myths of stretching, including the fact that it’s not actually a good idea BEFORE you work out, play sports or engage in physically strenuous activity.  She said it’s actually better for your muscles if you stretch afterwards.

Green explained that a good, dynamic warmup routine that gets your heart rate and breathing up before the activity is the best choice.  The stretching is actually more beneficial when it’s all over.

She also talked about how stretches of several minutes in length can really help with flexibility and strength, and she shared some good tips on how to do them.
