Marquette, MI – (11/14/19) – The Annual TV6 Canathon is underway and the director of the effort, Scott Zerbel, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to share all of the details. Zerbel, who is Marketing and Creative Services Director for TV6, shared some of the history of the yearly Holiday food drive and how it has grown.
He explained that Canathon started in 1982 and has gathered over 3.8 million pounds of food over the last 37 years. Zerbel said the drive started with a Marquette County focus and eventually grew to serve the majority of counties in the Upper Peninsula.
He added that there are now over 350 locations around the region for people to drop off non-perishable food items that will be gathered up and distributed to food pantries for those in need. Zerbel said the Canathon wraps up with a special live broadcast on WLUC TV6 on the evening of December 4th.
