Marquette, MI – (11/07/19) – U.S. Senator Gary Peters joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today for an update on three pieces of legislation he has been working on in Washington, D.C.
Peters discussed his legislation that secured $9 million in additional funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, which marked the first time more money would be appropriated for the effort than authorized. He also talked about his bill to protect firefighters from being exposed to PFAS chemicals in the line of duty which has moved through the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
Peters wrapped up his comments with information about his legislation that would fund the hiring of more agricultural inspectors who protect the nation’s food supply and agricultural industries at the country’s borders.
