Marquette Commissioners Voting Tuesday On Recreational Marijuana Ordinance

Marquette, MI – (10/14/19) – The Marquette City Commission is holding a public hearing tomorrow on an ordinance regulating public adult recreational use of marijuana in the city.  The Commission will hold the hearing on the proposed ordinance at their meeting tomorrow night due to today being a federally recognized holiday.

Marquette’s Chief Financial Officer, Gary Simpson, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to preview the meeting.  Simpson was substituting for City Manager Mike Angeli, who was away on a family matter.

Simpson said the Commission will be holding a vote after the hearing to adopt the ordinance.  If approved, the ordinance, as presented, is scheduled to go into effect on June 1st of 2020.  The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall on Baraga Avenue. – mediaBrew Communications News
