Lake Superior Community Partnership Secures $3.4 Million For Small Business Development

Marquette, MINovember 20, 2023Marquette County’s Lake Superior Community Partnership is receiving funding to develop a regional small business support hub.

LSCP CEO Christopher Germain spoke about the grant and what it will create with Mark and Walt in the Morning.

Germain explained that the Partnership is receiving $3.4 million under a plan to create entrepreneurial hubs across the state to support small businesses.

He outlined how grant sets up a three-year window to create and administer the hubs and their resources as the Central Upper Peninsula Small Business Support Hub.

Germain added that the The SBSH will be housed at the LSCP but overseen by an advisory council comprised of strategic partners who assisted in the application process: LSCP, Accelerate UP, Innovate Marquette SmartZone, Northern Michigan University, Small Business Development Center Upper Peninsula, Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and Sault Tribe Inc.
