MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A delegation of official visitors from Marquette’s Japanese Sister City Higashiomi is in the area until Wednesday.
One of the delegation members who is not leaving as soon as the rest of the group is Kazuhiro Kurata, who is spending a year at Northern Michigan University as the delegation’s visiting scholar.
Kazuhiro, along with Marquette City Manager Bill Vajda, joined the SUNNY Morning Show today to discuss his thoughts about the expereience of coming to Marquette so far.
He gave us some interesting insight into the things he’s noticed, and it appears that he share many of the same interests as the Marquette NMU students he is getting to meet and spend time with.
Kazuhiro also mentioned some of the biggest similarities between Higashiomi and Marquette and what some of the noticeable differences are.
