Negaunee, Michigan February 10th, 2016 – The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team hosted the Westwood Patriots tonight. Jesse Anderson and Brady Guilbault were there to bring you all the exciting action from the U.P. Propane Broadcast Booth on Sunny.FM.
The Westwood Patriots won the tip, but the Negaunee Miner’s Trent Bell scored the first point with a free throw shot and gave the Miners the early lead. The Negaunee Miners had a great offensive energy to start the first quarter and led 11-2 at the halfway mark. The Negaunee Miners ended the first quarter with the lead 15-7 over the Westwood Patriots.
Both teams offense was slow to start the second quarter, but the Miners were able to maintain a 19-12 lead at the quarter’s half. The Negaunee Miners continued to fight against the Westwood Patriots defense and ended the first half with a double digit lead 26-15.
The Patriots started the third quarter scoring a three point shot, but the Negaunee Miners answered back immediately on the next possession to remain in the lead 29-18. The Negaunee Miners continued drive the tempo and lead 35-20 with 4 minutes left in the quarter. The Negaunee Miners ended the third quarter increasing their lead 42-26 over the Patriots on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners continued to control the game throughout the fourth quarter and won 59-27 over the Westwood Patriots. The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team remains undefeated and improve their record to 14-0. GO MINERS!!

The Negaunee Miners Girls Basketball team will travel to Iron Mountain, Michigan tomorrow February 11th, 2016 to face the Iron Mountain Mountaineers.
