Marquette, MI  –  March 8, 2018  –  The Great Lakes Radio crew returned from Lansing this afternoon with more trophies to add to our walls. 960 entries were submitted for the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Broadcast Excellence Awards. Great Lakes Radio came out a big winner last night, judged by the Kansas Broadcasters. While we didn’t have quite enough to win 2017 Station of the Year, Sunny.FM did pick up 7 new awards with our sister stations receiving another 3!

Major Discount, Fox Sports Marquette’s Luke Ghiardi and Ryan Ranguette, and Sales Representatives Alex Baysore and Bruce Whitehead  accepted awards on Great Lakes Radio’s behalf during last night’s award ceremony. Collecting awards in categories including Best Community Involvement and Best Newscast, the Sunny.FM staff is proud to be apart of a team that works so hard to connect with its’ community both as a media outlet and as a local event coverage source!

Our Negaunee Miners also received a feature with Mark Evans and Greg Nelson picking up a Best in Play-by-Play Sports Coverage. We remain the most awarded station in the Upper Peninsula. In addition to our own award-winning original programming and content, Great Lakes Radio carries other excellent content from other winners this year, including Michigan Talk Network and Spartan Sports Network.

Check out all of our winning submissions below. We are honored to be the most influential radio station in the Upper Peninsula both on air and online.
