Marquette, MI. – Spring 2011 was just plain ugly; but Upper Peninsula golfers will be reaping the benefits of a chilly and soggy spring as Marquette County golf courses are in the best shape we’ve seen in years. Cool night and ample rain have led to a perfect early summer season.
MARQUETTE GOLF CLUB – Both the Heritage and Greywalls are lush and plush! The fairways are like carpet and the rough is full and challenging.
GENTZ’S HOMESTEAD: In a word: WOW! Smooth, soft and as green as it’s ever been.
NMU: With the amount of rain we’ve had the course has responded well. Although a bit thin in some spots, it’s worth it now more than ever to take advantage of a tee time in Chocolay Township.
WOWANOWIN: After a bout of Winter-Burn a few years ago, this course appears to be back. The fairways, especially the back nine, are as good as they’ve been in years. Prepare yourself for a great experience in Ishpeming this year!
