01/08/14 Negaunee, Michigan– Carl Johnson the voice of the Negaunee Miners and his
partner Jesse Anderson settled in at home tonight with the Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team to bring you exciting basketball action as the Miners took on the Ishpeming Hematities and looked to improve their record to 6-1 on Sunny.FM!
The Ishpeming Hematites won the tip off and scored the first points of the game. The Negaunee Miners did not take long to put points on the board and tie the game 2-2 in Negaunee, Michigan on Sunny.FM. The Ishpeming Hematites pulled away with the lead with a score of 8-6 in the middle of the first quarter with the Negaunee Miners on their heels to tie the game 8-8. The first quarter of this game ended with the Ishpeming Hematites trailing the Negaunee Miners 13-11!
The second quarter started with the Negaunee Miners Boys and the Ishpeming Hematites battling back and forth keeping the score close 16-15. This half of the game proved to be great basketball action as both teams gave their all to lead the game. The second quarter ended with the Negaunee Miners trailing the Ishpeming Hematites by five points 30-25.
The Ishpeming Hematites scored the first points of the third quarter against the Negaunee Miners and increased the lead 32-25. The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball answered those points with two of their own and the score was 34-27. Half way through the third quarter the Ishpeming Hematites pulled away to lead the Negaunee Miners 36-27. The Negaunee Miners defense struggled against the Hematites and they trailed 42-29. The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball sunk three, 3 point shots and tightened the score against the Ishpeming Hematites. The quarter ended with the Negaunee Miners trailing the Ishpeming Hematites 50-39 on Sunny. FM.
The Negaunee Miners were the first to score in the fourth quarter of the game in Negaunee, Michigan against the Ishpeming Hematites and decreased Ishpeming’s lead 50-45. The Negaunee Miners rallied in the forth quarter and only trailed by 2 points with less then 3 minutes left in the game 53-51. The Negaunee Miners found their momentum late in the game against the Ishpeming Hematites, trailing by 14 points earlier in the game the Miners took the lead with one minute left 54-53. The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team pulled together and held on strong and won this exciting game against the Ishpeming Hematites with a final score of 57-55.
