    Older adults can have a reduced risk of developing heart disease if they include more Vitamin D in their diets. Vitamin D and fortified dairy products are also great for reducing the risk of diabetes.

    Unlike other nutrients, Vitamin D isn’t really a vitamin at all: It’s a hormone, made by your body as you are exposed to sunlight. So in addition to eating a balanced diet including dairy, salmon and leafy green vegetables,  get about 20 minutes day in the sunlight…wearing your sunscreen, of course!
