Marquette, Michigan – April 9, 2019 – This past Friday night I finally got the chance to go out on a date with my husband! It’s been quite some time. We also double-dated with my sister and her boyfriend. It was great!
We went to dinner for Mexican, then to see the remake of Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary.” Now, I am a huge Stephen King fan (just like my mom). I loved the book, I loved the original movie, so I was pretty excited to see the remake of “Pet Sematary.”
I am definitely one of those people who believe the book will ALWAYS be better than the movie based on the book. So let’s just get that out there right now. BUT I will agree that there are plenty of movies that are based off of books that are quite good, “Pet Sematary” being one of them. However, this remake just didn’t do it for me.
I think it is good. I really do. So I didn’t walk out of the movie theater disappointed, by any means. But I do not think it measures up to the original movie, and of course the book. I won’t give anything away, other than *spoiler alert* they didn’t have certain characters act certain important parts that I believe they should have. For me, the story was changed up a little too much. BUT like I said; the remake was still a good movie.
So, check it out for yourself! I’d like to hear about your experience and your take on the remake vs. the original vs. the book, if you’ve seen/read the first ones. Let me know in the comments, or drop me an email! Kelsey@sunny.fm.
