9-20-2013 Negaunee, Michigan – It’s Football Night again in Negaunee on Sunny.FM! This week the Negaunee Miners took on the Iron Mountain Mountaineers on their home turf at Miner’s Field in Neguanee.
This was the fourth game of the 2013 high school football season for the Miners here on Sunny.FM and hopes were high for maintaining their undefeated status. Football Night in Negaunee on Sunny.FM and the Miners started off strong and completely dominated Iron Mountain the first quarter scoring 3 touchdowns! The first two touchdowns were made by Austin Caya (34) with the third touchdown scored by Tyler LaJoie (20). Ryan Syrjala threw a beautiful 2-point conversion caught by Zane Radloff. LaJoie also made a phenomenal interception during the first quarter. The Mountaineers were unable to put any points on the board and they finished the first quarter with a score of 20-0 Negaunee!

Iron Mountain Mountaineers: 0
Football Night in Negaunee on Sunny.FM and the Miners continued their domination over Iron Mountain scoring another two touchdowns while keeping the Mountaineers at zero. First touchdown of the second quarter for Negaunee was scored by Tyler Jandron (2) and the second touchdown of the second quarter for Negaunee was made by Zack Harsila (42). They finished the second quarter of their high school varsity football game with a score of 36-0!

Football Night in Negaunee on Sunny.FM and anticipation filled the air as the third quarter began. Iron Mountain had the ball, would they be able to move it and score? How would they handle the second half of the game? Negaunee continued pushing hard to shut out Iron Mountain who tried unsuccessfully to get some points on the board. At the end of the third quarter no points had been scored by either team and they finished the quarter still at 36-0 Negaunee.

Iron Mountain Mountaineers: 0
Football Night in Negaunee on Sunny.FM and the fourth quarter of the Miners game against the Mountaineers began with a running clock. During this fast running quarter the Mountaineers were able to get the ball into the end zone to score a touchdown! The play, made by Justin Rock (33), ended the Miners hopes of a shut out game. However, nothing to be sad about as they finished their fourth varsity football game of the season with a victory! Final score at the end of the game was 36-8 Negaunee.
