Alger County Minivan – Semi Accident Injures Two

Alger County, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Negaunee Post have released an update about an accident involving a semi-truck and a minivan yesterday in Alger County’s Autrain Township.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on M-94 near Forest Lake Road when a westbound minivan, driven by 47-year-old David Rinker of Munising, attempted to make a u-turn and was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound semi-truck.

Rinker was airlifted to UP Health System Marquette while his 14-year-old son Jacob, a passenger in the minivan, was transported to the same location by EMS.

David Rinker was admitted for treatment while Jacob Rinker was treated and released.

The driver of the semi, 50-year-old Steve White of downstate Cedar Springs, was not injured.

David Rinker was ticketed for careless driving.
