Dianda Measure Caps M-DOT Administrative Costs

110th District State Representative Scott Dianda
Lansing, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An amendment by State Representative Scott Dianda capping administrative costs of the Michigan Department of Transportation has been added to a road funding package approved by a House Committee yesterday in Lansing.
The amendment holds administrative costs of M-DOT at 7 percent of its total budget.
The Calumet Democrat says last year M-DOT’s administrative costs were at about 8 percent, or $236 million.
Holding M-DOT to 7 percent would have freed up $31 million for roads.
Dianda’s plan directs those savings to local road funds with 33 percent to cities, villages and townships, and 66 percent to counties.
