Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission will take another look at a plan to regulate food trucks in the city.

Following public comments from both brick-and-mortar restaurant and mobile food truck owners at last night’s meeting, Commissioners voted to have city staff reassess the proposed ordinance and develop a clarified plan.

Concerns voiced about the proposal included enforcement of specific guidelines for food truck location on city streets near existing restaurants as well as hours of operation and fee costs.

The Commission also voted to address smoking at Presque Isle Park by rejecting a detailed proposed amendment to the city’s current smoking ordinance in favor of posting signage in the park saying the park was a no smoking area.
