Verdict Reached In Escanaba Murder Trial

Escanaba, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A guilty verdict has been handed down in the trial of an Escanaba man accused in the stabbing death of his wife last September.

36-year-old Kallay Batchelor was found guilty of first degree murder by a jury today after about four hours of deliberation in Delta County Circuit Court.

Closing arguments were heard this morning and the jury began deliberations immediately afterward.

Batchelor never took the stand during the trial.

He faces up to life in prison.
