Three Vehicle Accident In Marquette County

Ely Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Troopers from the Negaunee State Police Post responded to a three-vehicle chain reaction crash Saturday evening in Marquette County’s Ely Township.

The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on US-41 near County Road 496.

An eastbound Jeep, driven by 57-year-old Mark Aeplebacher of East Jordan, MI was stopped on the highway waiting for another vehicle to turn onto County Road 496.

An eastbound Chevy Sonic, driven by 59-year-old Pamela Martz of Ishpeming was slowing down for the other two vehicles and was rear-ended by a Chrysler sedan driven by 36-year-old Donald Clary of Marquette.

The impact knocked the Martz vehicle into the Jeep.

Minor injuries were reported and Clary was ticketed for failing to stop in an assured clear distance.
