Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Upper Michigan lawmaker says voters sent a clear message with the vote on Proposal 1 this week.

110th District State Representative Scott Dianda says the vote showed residents want legislators to do their jobs and make a plan to get the state’s roads fixed.

The Calumet Democrat says people want to hold the Department of Transportation accountable for how they spend the money they currently have.

Dianda added they want to know that their money is spent on roads and not a bloated, outdated bureaucracy.
