Western U.P. Snowmobile Accident Injures One

Ontonagon, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office says one person was injured in a car-snowmobile accident last Friday afternoon.

The accident at the intersection of Trail #8 and Gem Hill Road happened just after noon.

Reports say a snowmobile operated by Gene Zettler of New Richmond, WI went through a stop sign and hit a vehicle traveling through the intersection.

The impact knocked the vehicle around 180 degrees and it hit the back of the snowmobile.

Zettler was taken to Aspirus Grand View Hospital and later airlifted to Aspirus Wausau with a serious leg injury.
