U.P. DNR Officer Saves Three Lives In Two Incidents
GLR News Update
Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Michigan D-N-R says an Upper Michigan Conservation Officer rescued three people last week in separate incidents.
Officer Mike Evink responded to a Schoolcraft County residence last Wednesday where a propane delivery man and the homeowner had been overcome by carbon monoxide.
Evink was able to open the main door to a garage where he found both people on the floor.
The delivery man survived, but the homeowner died.
A few days earlier, the DNR says Evink helped two stranded snowmobilers in Alger County whose machines had broken down in deep snow in a remote area.
Evink and a U.S. Forest Service officer followed snowmobile tracks and footprints to locate the stranded men and help them to safety.
