Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A fundraising effort to help build a residential hospice facility for the central U.P. has received a substantial boost.

Officials with Trillium House say the R. E. Davenport Foundation will match the next $50,000 in contributions to build the house.

If the current match is met, Trillium House will be within $200,000 of its fund raising goal for breaking ground.

The group says it will not build until at least 90% of the funds are in-hand or committed so it will have no long-term debt.

They hope to build the eight-room Trillium House facility in Marquette in the next year.
