Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Winter weather is continuing to be an issue in many areas of the northern half of Upper Michigan today.

Keweenaw and Northern Houghton counties remain under a Blizzard Warning until 7:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Heavy snow and westerly winds gusting between 30 to 40 mph are creating frequent whiteouts with wind chills from 10 to 25 below zero.

A Winter Weather Advisory calling for lake effect snow showers and gusty winds with sub-zero wind chills is also in effect in Baraga, Ontonagon and Alger Counties today.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through tomorrow night in Luce and Chippewa Counties.

Forecasters there say they are expecting more than a foot of snow with gusty winds that will create heavy blowing and drifting snow.
