Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette man has been appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to serve on a state advisory committee dealing with lake port issues.

Former Marquette City Manager and current Marquette County Board candidate Bill Vajda has been appointed to the Michigan Port Authority Advisory Committee.

The nine-member board was established to make recommendations to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors regarding projects related to port facilities.

Vajda is the only Upper Peninsula representative on the Committee.

Members serve terms expiring at the pleasure of the governor.
