Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Damage assessment continues today after heavy rains caused flooding along the Chocolay River in Marquette County.
State Police say US-41 has now been re-opened to through traffic between Heidtman Road and Yalmer Road. The highway was closed pending a full inspection of the bridge over the river.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says, however, that M-94 between County Road 545 and Townline Road, about 2 miles west of US-41 in Skandia, is a complete washout and the road will be closed indefinitely.
Detours have been posted and motorists are being advised to limit travel in those areas if possible.
