Gogebic County, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder toured areas of Gogebic County in the western Upper Peninsula this morning to survey damage caused by a tornado and strong storms last week.
Late last week, Snyder declared the county a disaster area and the state activated an emergency operations center after local officials declared a State of Emergency.
Winds of around 90 miles per hour caused power outages and knocked down trees.
Heavy rains caused flooding that washed out a number of roads and damaged several recreational areas.
