Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities in northeast Wisconsin are continuing the investigation into a weekend fatal traffic accident.

Marinette County Sheriff deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call Saturday just after 4:00 a.m., central time, in the town of Beecher.

51-year-old Michael Vojack of South Barrington, Illinois was driving a pick-up truck with a snowmobile trailer north on US-141 near Jossart Road.

He said he swerved to avoid a dark object in the road but the object was hit by the trailer.

He turned around and found an unresponsive woman in the middle of the road.

The victim, 51-year-old Pauline Wallschlaeger of Pembine, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead on the scene of head and internal injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor with Vojack, but is believed to be a factor with the pedestrian in the roadway.
