Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Travelers headed to the eastern U.P. or downstate may encounter some weather-related problems through tomorrow morning.

The National Weather Service says a Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow for Alger, northern Schoolcraft, Luce and Chippewa counties.

Moderate to heavy lake effect snow off of Lake Superior will fall through late tomorrow morning.

Accumulations between 6 and 11 inches from Munising eastward are expected and State Police say northwest winds up to 40 mph along the shoreline may cause blowing snow and reduced visibilities.

Also, a foot or more of fresh snow is expected in parts of northern Lower Michigan through today.

8 to 14 inches of lake-effect snow is possible south of the Mackinac Bridge to the Gaylord area.
