Kingsford Man Arrested After High Speed Chase

Iron Mountain, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Dickinson County man was arrested after a high-speed chase early today that started in Iron Mountain and ended in a rollover crash in Niagara, Wisconsin.

The suspect, an unidentified 32-year old Kingsford man, was taken into custody and at last report was being treated for injuries from the crash.

Police responded to the Iron Mountain Burger King on a report of an intoxicated man armed with a rifle driving a red pickup truck.

The suspect was spotted by authorities driving recklessly and then he drove into the VA Hospital parking area, backed into a secluded area and shut the lights and engine off.

When police approached the truck, the driver fled on eastbound US-2.

The chase continued into Wisconsin and ended when the suspect lost control of the truck, hit a power pole and rolled the truck over in Niagara.

Police located a rifle at the scene of the rollover, and formal charges are pending against the man.
