One Hurt In Marquette Township Crash

Marquette Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon that injured one person.

It happened just after 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of US-41 and Brickyard Road in Marquette Township.

A westbound SUV, driven by 30-year-old Whitney Stanley of Gwinn, turned left onto Brickyard Road into the path an an eastbound pickup truck driven by 28-year-old John Kovarik of Negaunee.

A passenger in the Stanley SUV, 40-year-old Dane Bays of Marquette, had non-life threatening injuries and sought his own treatment.

Stanley was ticketed for Failure to Yield and Transporting Open Intoxicants.

The accident remains under investigation.
