UP 200 Weekend A Success Despite Frigid Temps

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Organizers with U.P. Sled Dog Association say although this weekend had some extremely cold weather, the sled dog races and events were a success.

    The winner of the UP 200 was Ryan Anderson of Ray, Minnesota.

    In a close finish, Anderson beat out Martin Massicote of Quebec to win his sixth UP 200 championship in the last seven years.

    The winner of the 2016 Midnight Run was Larry Fortier of Gaylord and his wife, Joann Fortier, finished second.

    In the JackPine 30, held in Gwinn on Saturday, First place went to Al-Jo Thiart of downstate Cheboygan.
