Kincheloe, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A former Aramark supervisor at the Kinross Correctional Facility in the eastern U.P. has been sentenced to prison time in an assault-for-hire case.

27-year-old Michael Robert Young of Kincheloe was sentenced to 24 months to 5 years in prison after he was convicted of asking an inmate at the prison where he worked to orchestrate the assault of another inmate.

Young was found guilty in December of Solicitation to Commit Assault with Intent to Cause Great Bodily Harm.

An investigation found that Young had attempted to recruit an inmate to plan an assault of another inmate in retaliation for the murder of a relative of Young’s.

The inmate revealed the plot to Corrections Officers and the Department of Corrections launched the investigation.
