Lansing, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder says Michigan DNR Director Keith Creagh will be taking over as interim director of the Department of Environmental Quality.

Snyder appointed Creagh to the post following the resignation of former DEQ director Dan Wyant.

Dr. Bill Moritz will serve as interim director at the DNR.

Snyder accepted Wyant’s resignation this week and issued an apology to the people of Flint for the high lead levels in the city’s water supply as the result of drawing drinking water from the Flint River.

Wyant resigned following initial findings of a task force looking into the handling of the Flint water issue.
