Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Michigan House may soon vote on legislation requiring a person to pay restitution to the state for illegally killing, possessing, buying or selling an antlered white-tailed deer with a “gross score” of more than 100 inches (based on antler measurements).

This would be in addition to the restitution that currently must be paid for illegally taking deer. It would also increase the period of time a person would not be allowed to have an active license.

A second bill in the package increases the amount of damages a property owner could recover in a legal action against a trespasser. The fine for the violator would also go up under the bill.
