MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A community forum was held last night in Marquette looking at improvements and upgrades to one of the city’s most popular parks.
A proposed land use plan for Tourist Park was presented to interested parties at the Citizen’s Forum at Lakeview Arena by a Marquette architecture firm. Some of the main changes discussed included expanding portions of the campground, separating the day use and camping areas of the park, improving the beach and building a new playground.
Following last night’s preliminary public discussion, the plan heads to the Marquette City Commission for further review.
