Painesdale, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Police in the Copper Country are reporting an overturned semi-truck that shut down a portion of Highway M-26 this morning.

Around 10:30 a.m. police were called to scene of the accident on M-26, just south of Painesdale in Houghton County.

Few details have been released, but reports say the truck was carrying a load of beverages and was too heavy to be righted by a regular tow truck.

Crews were called in to unload the semi before it could be righted.

There is no word on any injuries at this time and cause of the accident is unknown.
