MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow has earned a third term, defeating former West Michigan Congressman Pete Hoekstra.
After expectations for a close, hard-fought race, it never materialized.
That was due, in part, to Stabenow’s big money advantage as an incumbent and big endorsements from conservative groups like the Michigan Farm Bureau, as well as Hoekstra’s stumbles in the Republican primary.
