Road Rage Incident in Marquette Ends in Assault

    Road rage incident ends with assaultMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police report the arrest of an Upper Michigan man for a road rage incident involving assault with a machete.

    The incident occurred Wednesday around 11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Medical Center on West Fair Avenue.  The investigation found that two vehicles were northbound on McClellan Avenue when one allegedly cut off the other one.

    The driver who was cut off followed the other car into the parking lot.  The driver of the car that was followed, 66-year-old Jeffrey Anderson of Northland, got out of his car with a machete and began threatening the other driver.

    That driver stayed in his vehicle and called 9-1-1.  Anderson struck the car with the machete and then put it back into his vehicle and walked into the Medical Center.

    Police found Anderson in the Center and he was arrested on a series of felony charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Malicious Destruction of Personal Property.

    He is currently being held at the Marquette County Jail on $110,000 bond.
