USW And Cliffs Extend Current Contract For 30 Days

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A contract extension has been agreed to by the United Steelworkers Union and Cliffs Natural Resources to allow for continued negotiations for a new contract.

    The agreement extends the terms of the current contract by 30 days as the talks between the two groups move ahead.

    The current agreement was originally set to expire at 12:01 a.m. today.

    The two sides are seeking to work out a new three-year deal between Cliffs and over 26-hundred members of Steelworker’s locals 4950 and 4974 in Michigan and locals 2705 and 6860 in Minnesota.
