MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has identified a person of interest in a series of bomb threats made against several agencies Friday.
The phoned-in threats were made against North Star Academy, Sawyer International Airport, Sawyer Medical Center, Marquette General Hospital, and Northern Michigan University.
Following sweeps of all of the facilities, no explosives were found, but two suspicious packages were located, including one that was designed to replicate a bomb.
All of the facilities and agencies are up an running as normal today. Authorities say all five bomb threats are connected and the investigation is continuing. Authorities have not released the name of the suspect.
