Alger Country Man Sentenced Up to 15 Years in Prison

Alger County man sentenced to 15 years in prison after the death of his girlfriend

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Alger County man convicted for the death of his girlfriend by running her over was sentenced today in Alger County Circuit Court.

48-year-old Thomas Murdock of Munising, who was convicted in July on a series of charges related to the death of 44-year-old Lisa Hardwick of Munising, was sentenced to 2 to fifteen years in prison.

Murdock was charged in connection with the death of Hardwick in June of 2011 after he backed over her on his property in AuTrain Township after the two had a fight.  Murdock had been found guilty of operating while intoxicated causing death, operating while intoxicated third offense, driving on a suspended license, and possession of marijuana. 

He was not convicted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter during a four day jury trial.
