Pedestrian-vehicle accident in Negaunee Township
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police from the Negaunee Post were called to a residence early Sunday morning on Longyear Drive in Negaunee Township in response to a pedestrian personal injury accident.
Troopers say a 23-year-old Negaunee man had driven his 2000 Chevrolet pick-up truck to the residence to talk to a 37-year-old Marquette man about an altercation they had the previous evening.
After an argument at the residence, the man who had driven to the Longyear Drive address drove from the scene. While leaving his vehicle hit the man he had just argued with.  The driver then drove to the Negaunee State Police Post to report the incident.
Following an investigation, the driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The injured man was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his left foot and leg.
No names have been released as the investigation continues.
