MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) -The Iron County Sheriff’s Department says an Illinois man was hospitalized in a weekend ATV accident.
Deputies say a 29-year-old Palatine, Illinois man was injured when the ATV he was operating on Iron County Recreational Trail #16 went out of control and struck some trees.
The accident happened around 3 o’clock central time on Saturday afternoon near Wagner Lake in Bates Township. The man was wearing a helmet and sustained some minor injuries. He was taken to North Star Hospital for treatment.
Deputies say lack of ATV operating experience of the driver was a major factor in the crash.
