Hancock, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A homeless Copper Country man has been arrested in connection with a series of break-ins at three churches in Hancock.

20-year-old Michael Cote is charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering with Intent, which are both 10 year felonies, and one count of Malicious Destruction of Property, a five year felony.

He is being held in the Houghton County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond, and will be back in court for a preliminary exam in two weeks.

Cote was arrested after an investigation into recent break-ins at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, and Zion Lutheran Church.
